The regions of Barra da Tijuca and Recreio, both in Rio de Janeiro’s West Zone, will debut in the metaverse. Digital versions of famous neighborhoods in Rio will be part of the expansion of the Upland metaverse. As the metaverse reported, a total of 26,500 virtual plots will be incorporated into the metaverse. Most of them are in Barra da Tijuca, one of the most coveted neighborhoods in “real life”.

According to Upland, in addition to Recreio and Barra da Tijuca, the list also includes the neighborhoods of Andaraí, Grajaú, Joá and Itanhangá. The Upland metaverse already has 4 million followers worldwide. In addition, it has already registered approximately 8 million dollars in cash withdrawals by players in the last four years.
“Opening new neighborhoods and new cities is strategic for uplanders. Moreover, it is even more attractive for those who are at the beginning of their endeavor and are looking for good chances to profit from buying and selling land. We will soon announce another important Brazilian city in the metaverse,” said Ney Neto, Upland’s operational director in Brazil.

Even in the bear market, Upland sold out in 24 hours dozens of neighborhoods announced this year in July and November. In total, 70,000 properties were acquired in neighborhoods such as Estácio, Gávea, Humaitá, Jardim Botânico, Lagoa, Rocinha, São Conrado, Tijuca, Vidigal, Urca, Leme, Leblon, Copacabana, Botafogo, Flamengo, Lapa, Santa Tereza, Laranjeiras, and Glória.

“The volume that reached 54 sales per second in the previous Rio launches shows the unequivocal success of our platform, especially for the public in Brazil, whose economy is decisive for the solidity of our business. Besides the partnership with the Mangueira samba school, and entities such as Unicef, we are preparing a series of new features that will increasingly attract the curiosity of Brazilians and their interest in having fun and making money at the same time in this new economy that is web3”, observed Idan Zuckerman, Upland’s founder.

The Silicon Valley executive is in the country at the invitation of Campus Party Brazil. He will speak about the future of metaverses and exchange experiences with Brazilian developers and investors in digital culture.
At Mangueira’s rehearsal court, uplanders will be able to buy products in NFT, as well as attend shows and get real world advantages. The samba school said it is very excited about this licensing agreement. After all, it will be one more tool to dialogue with Brazilian and foreign fans of carnival culture and the green and pink tradition.
